This is the second project I did during the Graduation Project period done under NID Assam - A conceptual capsule apparel collection, I aimed to create a collection where avant-garde silhouettes could be more RTW and cost-efficient at the same time expressing personal identity.
A textile explorative capsule collection, inspired by the haunting eccenctric music and biology. Imagery of cyber futurism, imagined in a world where a group of humans are trying to conjoin elements of odonates and insects with mecha. They’re trying everything they can to hide or enhance the parts that they’re given with the help of material that's most likely found in an intergalactic craft inventory.

Process:
In reimagining the prevailing fascination with fantasy and the inclination towards living in a ‘delulu’ as the modern-day 20-something-year-old would say, I draw inspiration from the dramatic and romantic albums of early 80s Japan. Infusing these influences with contemporary superficial imagery of the future, I envision a departure from popular expectations. While many envision a future akin to scenarios depicted in Sword Art Online or The Fifth Element, where everyone is living in space ships and have robot parts, I personally think there would be a huge trajectory towards increased peculiarity and humanization over time.
This project navigates the dichotomy of concealing one facet while revealing another. The intention is to present a unified identity that transcends the perception of secrecy, ultimately reflecting the true self. Fashion is like makeup for the mind, body and soul. My fascination with textile techniques and the creation of tactically engaging surfaces has further propelled explorations in this conceptual direction.
